Not only are they used to manufacture the aforementioned items but they are also integral in the production of arms and ammunition, military vehicles, armoured vehicles, fighter jets, submarines, naval ships and nuclear facilities. Moreover, the Quran devotes an entire chapter to the importance of steel and iron. In Chapter 57, Verse 25, Allah says, "Indeed We have sent Our Messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance (justice) that mankind may keep up justice. And We brought forth iron wherein is mighty power (in matters of war), as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help Him (His religion), and His Messengers in the unseen. Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty." This shows that iron and steel can be used even in places and societies where the justice system is weak and lawlessness is pervasive.

The Quran further references the making of metal coats of mail (for battles) in Chapter 21, Verse 80 and the softening of iron for Prophet David in Chapter 34, Verse 10, indicating that iron and steel have been used to protect yourself during the war.
