I used to hear inspiring and cheerful news and stories about my country and the globe around me a few years ago. However, as time progressed, negativity and depression began to spread throughout the planet.
The fact that we are transitioning from optimism to pessimism is not a healthy sign. There will be no dread of hopelessness when we believe in Allah Almighty and His Last Messenger because Islam offers optimism, trust-building, and motivation.

Studying the Holy Scripture, "The Holy Quran," teaches foresightedness and self-awareness. In Chapter 39, Verse 53, Allah says, "My slaves, who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful".

Further in the Holy Quran, Allah mentions the conversation of Jacob with his sons in Chapter 12, Verse 87, “O my sons! Go you and enquire about Yusuf (Joseph) and his brother, and never give up hope of Allah’s Mercy. Certainly no one despairs of Allah’s Mercy, except the people who disbelieve".

Ten ways to bring optimism to life

  1. Regularly, practice thankfulness by writing down or sharing what you are grateful for.
  2. Surround yourself with individuals who will encourage and support you.
  3. Set small, attainable goals for yourself and reward yourself when you achieve them.
  4. Participate in activities that make you happy, such as hobbies or volunteering.
  5. Mindfulness and meditation can help you stay present and focused in the current moment.
  6. By confronting and questioning negative thoughts, you can reframe them into good ones.
  7. Exercise on a regular basis, as it has been proved to boost mood.
  8. Acts of compassion toward others can increase sentiments of happiness and positivity.
  9. Maintain a balanced diet and get enough sleep to keep your body and mind well-rested and nourished.
  10. Seek professional help if you are suffering from depression or anxiety, as it can help you develop coping techniques and enhance your overall well-being.

Therefore, having faith in Allah and fighting against difficult times is one of the believers' highest qualities.
